Investigate the suspects that might be killing your voice and unravel the mystery of your voice issue in this 12-week immersive experience with Tom Burke.
How it works:
Each week, you will participate in an assessment of a different "subsystem" of voice (i.e. breathing, resonance, articulation) to determine what variables may be impacting your ability to sing the way you want in the style you want.
You'll then learn practice techniques to overcome the challenge of the week.
Here's the lineup
Week 1: The Vocal Vampire: Identify the environmental factors harming your voice and develop a gameplan to vanquish them.
Week 2: The Inner Critic: Identify the negative self-talk that may be distracting you from succeeding and learn how to leverage "Magic Words" to quickly find your ideal sound.
Week 3: The Drill Sergeant: Eliminate complex warmups or overly technical exercises, and develop a practice routine that actually works.
Week 4: The Sloucher: Work on the alignment issues that might be undermining your vocal ease.
Week 5: The Wobbler: Work on the support issues that might be impacting your power, stability and consistency.
Week 6: The Chihuahua & St. Bernard: Work on the breathing issues that might be undermining your stamina and yielding unnecessary effort.
Week 7: The Buzzer: Address issues with the vocal folds themselves like vocal fold adduction, onsets, and the thickness of your vocal folds.
Week 8: The Bottleneck: Identify the vocal tract issues that might be causing the timbre issues (i.e. brightness and darkness) of your voice.
Week 9: The Nasalizer: Work on controlling the degree of nasality of your voice.
Week 10: The Alien: Work on optimizing your resonance for optimal ease, consistency, projectability and beauty.
Week 11: The Elocutionist: Identify which consonants might be tripping you up and how to overcome them with Diction Tricks.
Week 12: The Pitch Pirate: Identify the tricky lyrics that might be causing you rough vocal seas and how to stabilize the ship.
