Origins of Tom Burke Voice Studio
How It Started
My journey began with a passion for helping performers. Fresh out of speech-language pathology school, I dreamed of building a private practice for singers and actors. Like many aspiring artists, I landed in a tiny NYC apartment, juggling what felt like 20 jobs just to keep the lights on. It wasn’t easy, but I never lost sight of my vision, helping people find their voice.
Early on, I recognized that clients needed more than traditional methods—they needed a blend of evidence-based technique and practical, real-world coaching.
Then, an unexpected opportunity changed everything. A chance encounter with a friend led to a one-off corporate coaching gig, which turned into a 17-year journey in public speaking training.
I went on to coach 22 TED Talks and work with major brands like Google, Bravo, and the Oprah Winfrey Network. Along the way, I developed a rock-solid framework for transforming voices with precision and efficiency.
I launched TBVS to deliver New York–quality voice training to a broader community, first through in-person sessions and then expanding globally with online programs like “Broadway VoiceBox” and my popular “Technique Talk Tuesday” video series.
With nearly two decades of coaching experience, I combine science, artistry, and real-world experience to help singers, speakers, and teachers find their voice and unlock their full potential. From Broadway performers to Fortune 500 executives, TED speakers to educators, I’ve helped professionals across industries strengthen their vocal power, clarity, and confidence.

Do you offer one-off voice lessons?
We don’t offer one-off lessons. If you want voice lessons, complete the TBVS Intensive first, then you can opt into Momentum Coaching (1:1).
